
What is direct selling?
According to the Direct Selling Association, Direct Selling is: “Direct Selling is the sale of a consumer product or service, person-to-person, away from a fixed retail location. These products and services are marketed to customers by independent salespeople. Depending on the company, the salespeople may be called distributors, representatives, consultants or various other titles. Products are sold primarily through in-home product demonstrations, parties and one-on-one selling.”
Direct selling or affiliate selling is a way of making extra money by marketing someone else’s products to potential consumers in their homes, at a central office (many direct sellers hire halls or offices for meetings) or even online. Instead of carrying all the overheads of owning your own business, you receive a percentage of the earnings in a form of commission.
